The exit interview

you actually want to have.

Ninety minutes, one honest conversation. You bring your Never Again List and a clear picture of where you actually stand. We bring our perspective, no script, and the willingness to sit with you in what you've written - and help you see it clearly.

If You Did the Audit, You Already Know the Gap

You have a list. You have an honest account of what you're done with. You have the beginnings of an answer to what comes next.

What you don't have is someone reading it with you and helping you see what it's actually pointing at.

The Exit Interview is where the list stops living in your head and starts becoming something you can use.

Before We Start

You'll get an intake form right after booking with four short questions, takes about ten minutes. We read your answers before the call, which means when the ninety minutes start, we're not asking you to repeat yourself.

You'll also receive a brief pre-session exercise to complete and bring to the session. It gives us a full picture of where you actually are across your life right now, not just the professional chapter you just left.

What Happens in the Ninety Minutes

01

The Review

We look at your answers together and find what's underneath them. The patterns you wrote without realizing it. The thing your list has been trying to tell you. Sometimes it takes another set of eyes and the right questions to name it out loud.

02

The Honest Look

We zoom out. Your audit covers the professional chapter. This part covers everything else. Because what comes next has to fit your whole life, not just your resume.

03

Your Line in the Sand

The 90 minutes ends with your "line in the sand:" the definitive, uncompromisable truth about what your next chapter requires. Most clients say that naming this single, non-negotiable boundary is the exact moment the session pays for itself.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Is the Exit Interview Right for You?

It's the right call if you're in that specific kind of stuck where you know something has to change but you can't quite see what the audit is actually telling you. You've done the work of writing it down. Now you want someone to look at it with you - not point you to a webinar and wish you luck.

Book this call if...

  • You've completed the Never Again Audit and you have at least seven items written down.

  • You're inside the first six months of an unexpected exit, or you're months away from the one you can already feel coming.

  • You were a senior leader or had senior-level responsibilities.

  • You're second-guessing yourself more than usual. That's normal. It won't stop you from getting something real out of this.

Do not book this call if...

  • You're hoping someone will tell you what to want. We won't, because we can't.

  • You haven't done the audit. The Exit Interview works because you show up with something. Do the audit first. It's free.

  • You're looking for a recruiter, an outplacement service, or a job search coach. None of those are us, and we'd be a bad fit for each other.

  • You want a full roadmap and structured program in ninety minutes. The Exit Interview is the start of that work, not the whole thing.

Why Heather & Casey?

We're Heather Horner and Casey Gibson, the founders of Clever Octopus. Between us, forty-plus years in L&D, leadership development, and executive coaching across STEM, finance, and global organizations.

The credentials matter less than the lived experience.

Both of us walked out of senior corporate roles in our fifties. Both of us did the panic-applying. Both of us spent months telling a cleaned-up version of the story before we got honest with each other and built what we wish someone had built for us.

Your Exit Interview is one-on-one — you and one of us, for ninety minutes. No audience. No performance. Just a private conversation with someone who has been exactly where you are and knows how to help you see your way through it.

We each bring the same foundation: the framework, the lived experience, and the ability to hear what you're not quite saying yet. Whoever you're with, you're getting the real thing.
