You have a list. You have an honest account of what you're done with. You have the beginnings of an answer to what's actually next.
What you don't have is the pressure test.
The Compass Session is where the list stops being a document and starts being a decision.
You'll get an intake form right after booking. Four short questions. Takes about ten minutes. It tells us where you are, what surfaced in the audit, and what decision you're actually trying to make. We read it before the call. So when the ninety minutes start, we're not asking you to repeat yourself.
The call moves in three parts.
01
The Read-Back
We tell you what we see in your audit answers that you may not have seen yet. The patterns underneath the items. The thing your list is pointing at that you haven't named out loud.
02
The Pressure Test
We hold your non-negotiables against your real options. The kinds of work that fit. The kinds that don't. The kind you've been considering that you'll be relieved to take off the list.
02
The Direction
You leave with one written direction. Not "explore consulting." Not "consider portfolio careers." Specific. The kind of role or structure or work that meets your list, plus the first move to test whether it's the right one in the next thirty days.
You get a written summary in your inbox by the next morning. You can re-read it on the days the second-guessing kicks in. (It will. That's normal.)
Book this call if...
You've completed the Never Again Audit and you have at least seven items written down.
You're inside the first six months of an unexpected exit, or you're months away from the one you can already feel coming.
You were a VP, Senior Director, SVP or equivalent.
You want a specific, written direction in ninety minutes. Not a roadmap and a process.
Do not book this call if...
You're hoping someone will tell you what to want. We won't, because we can't.
You haven't done the audit. The Compass Session is a pressure test. We can't pressure-test a list that doesn't exist yet. Do the audit first. It's free.
You're looking for a recruiter, an outplacement service, or a job search coach. None of those are us, and we'd be a terrible fit.

We're Heather Horner and Casey Gibson, the founders of Clever Octopus. Forty-five years between us in L&D, leadership development, and executive coaching across government, healthcare, finance, and global organizations.
The credentials matter less than the lived experience.
Both of us walked out of senior corporate roles in our fifties. Both of us did the panic-applying. Both of us spent months telling a cleaned-up version of the story before we got honest with each other and built what we wish someone had built for us.
You won't talk to one of us. You'll talk to both of us. Together. For ninety minutes. We work as a pair on purpose. You spent your career listening to one consultant tell you one version of a thing.
The Compass Session is built around two of us in a room with you, pressure-testing each other in real time. You hear two readings of your situation, not one.
